Rollout Department Setup Summary
This guide provides a summary of the procedures that a System Administrator (FSA) uses to set up new Staffing and Scheduling rollout departments. Rollout departments are those not included in the initial pilot department setup that API Healthcare assisted with.
The following examples show situations when these procedures may be used.
-
FSAs may refer to these procedures during implementation as they roll out new departments, since it is rare that all departments are implemented at the same time.
-
Clinical departments have been live for years. Now the organization buys additional Staffing and Scheduling licenses to implement non-clinical departments, such as Building Services and Information Technology.
-
The organization creates a new department, such as a new cardiac department, that will use Staffing and Scheduling.
The guide provides general information. Detailed instructions about each item can be found in online help, in other user guides, and from API Healthcare support associates. In addition, there is a Step by Step Build Refresher guide available with more detailed instructions.
A note regarding the Productivity report
If you use the Productivity report, refer to your productivity spreadsheet for specific indicator and parameter settings. There are many settings that affect the report that are not covered in this guide, such as:
-
Pay Codes (indicators, parameters, and report assignments)
-
Job Classes (indicators and parameters)
-
Profiles (average wage parameter)
-
Special Codes (direct or indirect)
